About
Nobody would show us the factory.
So we started filming them ourselves.
Sourcing from China works something like this. You find a supplier on a B2B platform. The photos are stock. The video call is steered around one clean corner of the room. The audit report is two years old and was paid for by the supplier.
Then you wire a deposit and hope.
We got tired of that. Our team in Shenzhen started driving out to factories with a camera and publishing what was actually there — the floor, the QC bench, the storage room nobody wanted us to film. Not a pitch deck. Footage, with the date on it.
The directory is free and always will be. We charge buyers who want us to do the work: match them to a factory, audit one they already found, or run the whole order. That is the only money in the business, which is why no factory can pay to look better here.
Our filming rules
Four commitments we will not trade away.
We film what we see
If a floor is messy, that shot stays in. Factories know this before we arrive and some say no. That is fine — a factory that will not be filmed has told you something.
No paid listings, ever
A factory cannot buy a place in the directory, a better position, or the removal of a concern we wrote. Our money comes from buyers paying for sourcing work.
Concerns get published
Every profile has a 'not for' section and most have something we would push back on. If a profile reads like an advert, we have failed.
We name the date
Every profile says when we visited. A factory in 2023 is not the same factory in 2026, and old footage without a date is marketing.
Talk to a person.
Email reaches the AU/US team and gets answered within a business day. If you are a factory that wants us to visit, there is a separate page for that.
